CAMPS 2003

 

 

 

BELGIUM - JUL 03

Nine cadets together with the Squadron Warrant Officer and a Civilian Instructor teamed up with cadets and staff from two other South Hams squadrons and spent a week in Belgium. During the camp both cadets and staff spent touring locations of historical interest. One such visit included a special parade at the Mennin Gates at Ypres where the local residents hold a service, which includes the playing of the Last Post every night to cemmemorate those who gave their lives during the Great War . The cadets were invited to join ceremony in which they paraded the ATC Standard. The Standards were lowered during the playing of the Last Post. Wreaths were laid by the cadets on behalf of the Squadron, The Air Training Corps and the Women's Branch of the Royal British Legion in memory of all the British service personnel who had died in conflict and in particular the Great War.

          

         

     

 

RAF INNSWORTH - 09-16 AUG 03

Five cadets from 339 Squadron teamed up with cadets and staff from across the Wing to spent a week on camp at RAF Innsworth in Gloucestershire. There was a packed program to keep the cadets occupied from sun up to sun down and included visits to Units on the station, shooting, flying in Tutors and visits to places of interest off the station.
